As said by John Hennessy, former President of Stanford University, in newspaper Le Monde 2016:
Le Monde question: More unexpected in the heart of Silicon Valley: you’ve placed art at the heart of the campus. What did you expect from it?
JH answer: Great companies have great artists: culture brings depth, which is something we breathe everywhere in France. What’s more, we wanted to give students access to something that could become a lifelong source of joy. But art also has a pedagogical virtue: frequenting and practicing it stimulates creativity, exposes us to different cultures, to ideas that go beyond established frameworks. So we set out to give students what I call creative confidence. Teaching them to give and receive criticism without taking offence. This is a very valuable skill.
